7th May: International Day of Solidarity

Recently, 9 revolutionary prisoners in Turkey continue an indefinite hungerstrike for up to 200 days. They are the vanguards in the struggle against isolation torture and the new installed S, R and Y High Security Prisons. With their hunger, the prisoners once again break through the walls and their voices unite with the people outside.

On 7th May, many internationalists, people of different continents and colours joined the solidarity chain for the political prisoners in Turkey with 1 day solidarity hunger strike and/or protest actions in front of Turkey’s representations in Europe. The campaign shows the power of people united, as it is expressed in statements and videos of the supporters. On the date of our actions, it was proven once again that international solidarity is the strongest weapon. 2 prisoners were transferred out of this isolation cells – Sercan Ahmet Arslan and Mulla Zincir.

Sercan Ahmet Arslan continues his hungerstrike, because he wants his comrade Ufuk Keskin, who suffers from various diseases to be transferred as well.

Yorum Cultural Center in Berlin organized an event for letter writing to the prisoners on indefinite hungerstrike in Turkey and to the prisoners in solidarity hungerstrike.

In total 43 post cards and 10 letters were sent from UK to 10 revolutionary captives who are on hunger strike against the notorious SRY type of solitary confinement prisons.

Also from Switzerland letters were sent to the prisoners on hungerstrike in Turkey

In Hagen (Germany) letters were written and sent to Turkey.

I’m Sahil Azad, from India. I’m a political worker and an independent journalist. I am a part of Krantikari Gig Mazdoor Manch, a revolutionary union of Gig workers. I’m also a part of Hoonkar Collective – a collective of revolutionary artists and organizers, and various other reading groups, and United fronts.

I’m extending my solidarity with the political prisoners on hunger strike against the inhuman conditions of SRY type prisons in Turkey. I will be on a 1 day hunger strike on 7th of May, on the 200th day of hunger strike by SA Arsalan.

Support for the 10 political prisoners in Turkey, who are holding indefinite hunger strike against isolation prisons S, R, Y type, was also extended from China.
