INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FOR POLITICAL PRISONERS (IS4PP)

MESSAGE AND CALL FROM TAYAD

(Association for Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners and Convicts)

The resistance of Mulla Zincir and Sercan Ahmet Arslan, held in Buca well-type Prison, ended in victory after over 200 days of indefinite hunger strike.

Mulla Zincir has been transferred to Kırıklar No. 2 Type F Prison, and Sercan Ahmet Arslan to Kırıklar No. 1 Type F Prison. Mulla Zincir, who ended his resistance in victory, was taken to the hospital but was returned to Kırıklar No. 2 Type F Prison without receiving treatment.

Sercan Ahmet Arslan continues his indefinite hunger strike with the slogan “The only undefeated commander is resistance,” for his comrade and sick prisoner Ufuk Keskin.
Today is the 208th day of his hunger strike.

Who is Ufuk Keskin?

He is a revolutionary and seriously ill prisoner who has been subjected to attempts on his life in prison for 27 years. He suffers from diabetes, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, gynecomastia, panophobia, circulatory disorders, lumbar and cervical hernia, pollen and mold allergies, gastritis, and dental disease.

Despite a report issued by the Ankara Penal Institutions State Hospital in October 2024 stating that “staying in a solitary cell poses a life-threatening risk,” and another similar report from Etlik City Hospital, Ufuk Keskin is still being held in Ankara Sincan No. 1 High-Security Prison, which is considered a well-type facility.

Sercan Ahmet Arslan continues his resistance to ensure that sick prisoner Ufuk Keskin is transferred to a prison that is not a well-type facility and where his friends are also present.

This resistance, which shows that the love for comrades is more precious than life, cannot be destroyed.

We will continue to add new victories to those already won through resistance.

As TAYAD Families, we call out to the Ministry of Justice from here:

“Sick prisoner Ufuk Keskin must be immediately transferred to a prison that is not a well-type facility and where his comrades are also held. Otherwise, you will be held responsible for any harm that befalls our children!”

Long Live Our Indefinite Hunger Strike Resistance!

SERCAN AHMET ARSLAN CONTINUES HIS RESISTANCE FOR THE TRANSFER OF SICK PRISONER UFUK KESKIN TO A PRISON THAT IS NOT A TYPE-WELL FACILITY AND WHERE HIS COMRADES ARE HELD

CALL FROM TAYAD FAMILIES:

  • Free Captives are being targeted for elimination in Type-Well Prisons where air, sunlight, and wind cannot enter.
  • Type-Well Prisons are Silent Death!
  • Let us not allow our prisoners to be murdered in these wells.
  • On 20 May, we all are on a day of support hunger strike.
  • On June 7, let us raise our voices with the wish lanterns we will release for the Free Captives in well-Type facilities. Let’s illuminate those dark wells with our wish lanterns.
