Letter for Zehra to the French embassy in Vienna

To express the solidarity with Zehra Kurtay, a political refugee in France who is under threat of extradition to Turkey, 2 persons on behalf of the Freedom Initiative for Political Prisoners went to the French embassy in Austria this morning to hand over a protest letter.

The extradition court is scheduled for 10.00 am today.

In the letter that was taken to the French embassy, it was explained that a eventual extradition would be a violation of law and human rights. Examples of torture and imprisonment that socialist journalist colleagues, as f.e. Ayten Öztürk had faced, were also mentioned.
