Isolation Torture for revolutionary prisoners

A judge in Italy has decided to renew the isolation regime of 41bis for the former member of the Red Brigades (BR-PCC), Marco Mezzasalma. He was arrested in October 2004 and then kept in solitary confinement under the 41bis regime for 20 years.

Judges decide every four years wheter this special prison regime be continued or not. In case of Marco Mezzasalma, the judge decided to renew the application under 41bis isolation regime.

Same as Marco, the political prisoners Nadia Lioce, Roberto Morandi and Alfredo Cospito are exposed to the torture of solitary confinement under 41bis, for the reason that they keep defending revolutionary and political ideas.
