Number of resisters against pit-types continues to increase

On 27th July, 3 more political prisoners started an indefinite hunger strike against the isolation torture practiced in Turkey’s pit-type prisons.

• At Antalya’s High Security Prison:

Tahsin Sagaltici and Gurkan Turkoglu

• At Kirikkale F-Type prison

While the other prisoners demand closure and transfer from the pit-types, Firat Kaya’s demands are extended to the following:

• The practices against human dignity must be stopped.
• The repression towards Grup Yorum and other artists must be stopped
• Revolutionary prisoners must be transferred from pit-type prisons.

Firat Kaya is not in a pit-type prison, but he is confronted with similar practices and conditions in the prison he is kept now.Recently, there are 9 revolutionary prisoners on indefinite hunger strike, of whom Serkan Onur Yilmaz is under immediate life risk. Today it was announced, that Serkan has transformed his indefinite hunger strike to a death fast, which is the highest and most determined form of hunger protest.
