INDIGENOUS PEOPLE IN THE USA DEDICATED THEIR TRADITIONAL SUN DANCE CEREMONY TO DEATH FAST RESISTER SERKAN ONUR YILMAZ, AS WELL AS TO PRISONERS WITHOUT FAMILIES AND SICK PRISONERS.
American Indians in the United States have dance ceremonies in the summer. These are their religious rituals.
The Native American leading the dance is called the ‘sun dance chief.’
On 13 August, during the ‘sun dance,’ the sun dance chief dedicated his dance to sick prisoners, prisoners without families and to the prisoners on hunger strike in Turkish prisons.
These dancers fast and dance around a sacred tree. On the fourth day, they pierce themselves to honour their great-grandfathers and Mother Earth.
