New indefinite hunger strikes in Turkey’s prisons

Where there is oppression and injustice, there will grow resistance…

While 10 political prisoners recently continue an indefinite hungerstrike, including the death fast of Serkan Onur Yilmaz against the pit-type isolation prisons and its unlawful and inhuman practices towards prisoners, new fronts are opened against arbitrary measures.

The following revolutionary prisoners at Kandıra’s F Type Nr.2 have begun an indefinite hunger strike on August 11.

• Nesimi Özcan

These are their demands:

1. The dietary rights of sick prisoner Ufuk Keskin should be granted
2. Fırat Özçelik and Ali Teke should be granted their right to access the prison exercise yard, which has been denied them.
3. The pit-type prisons should be closed down.
