Solidarity with resistance of revolutionary prisoners at People’s Voice Festival in Vienna

During the People’s Voice Festival in Vienna, which has been organized by the Austrian Communist Party for the 78th year and this year took place from August 30-31, an info booth was opened in the framework of the campaign against pit-type isolation prisons in Turkey. A banner of the Freedom Initiative for Political Prisoners in solidarity with the hunger strike/death fast resistance to S,R,Y prisons was hung, as well as posters of all the revolutionary prisoners on indefinite hunger strike and death fast.

During the festival many people visited the info booth and were given information brochures and post cards to be sent to the prisoners and to the ministry of Justice in Turkey and it was particularly stressed that the life of death fast resister Serkan Onur Yilmaz was in high danger.

During the festival a solidarity photograph was taken together with comrades of Red Flag, DKP and the Palestinian Solidarity movement, to support the demands of the 11 prisoners on hunger strike/death fast, carrying their posters, including a large banner of death fast resister Serkan Onur Yilmaz. Further, a short statement was made to these organisations to inform about the character of pit-type prisons and to explain the importance of resistance to this imperialist project towards revolutionary prisoners and the opposition as a whole.

Further, a video was made to call for participation in a one-day solidarity hunger strike for Serkan Onur Yilmaz on the 300th day of his death fast resistance (September 6, 2025).
