Fikret Akar is on the 166th day of his indefinite hunger strike for the closure of S, R,Y prisons (pit prisons) or high-security prisons and his transfer to a prison with humane standards from Karatepe high-security prison, an isolation prison of this kind, to which he was arbitrarily transferred on February 1, 2025.
He is at a very advanced stage of his hunger strike.
Today, on the 166th day of the indefinite hunger strike, his wife informed that “they have imposed a communication penalty on him until 8 October“.
Of course there is big concern about this development.
“So we can no longer receive any news from him. On 8 October, he will be on the 194th day of his hunger strike.” she said.
