Turkey: TAYAD continues actions to save the life of Serkan Onur Yilmaz

ANKARA – 15.09.2025: Members of TAYAD (Solidarity Association of Prisoners’ Families) left a symbolic coffin in front of the Ministry of Justice for Serkan Onur Yılmaz, on day 309 of his death fast resistance.

The TAYAD members who left the symbolic coffin yesterday, were arrested from their houses in the middle of the night. The authorities of Turkey prefer to continue repression instead of putting a single signature to accept the demands of Serkan Onur Yilmaz, who has been on death fast resistance for 310 days. His only demand is the transfer of his friends from Antalya High Security (ISOLATION) prison to antother prison without severe isolation conditons.

• RELEASE THE MEMBERS OF TAYAD, WHO STAND UP FOR THEIR CHILDREN AND FOR THE RIGTHS OF ALL OPPRESSED POLITICAL PRISONERS!
• ACCEPT THE DEMANDS OF SERKAN ONUR YILMAZ and ALL PRISONERS ON INDEFINITE HUNGER STRIKE and DEATH FAST.

The TAYAD families are continuously struggling for the rights and the freedom of their imprisoned relatives and other political prisoners. Members of the Prisoners’ Family Association are continuing with a sit-in protest at the Kurtulus Park in Ankara for 3 weeks to get out their children from the pit-type prisons.

Despite of the repression, the Family Association continues on a daily basis to defend the prisoners on hunger strike, first of all to save the life of Serkan Onur Yilmaz.

Several actions to make the voices of the prisoners on death fast and indefinite hungerstrike heard took place in Ankara. TAYAD members went at a meeting of CHP in Ankara/Tandogan to demand the closure of the pit-type isolation prisons.

6 persons were brutally removed from the square by plainclothes police officers and detained.
