Ankara: Press statement against pit-type prisons

A joint press statement was issued by the Ankara Labour and Democracy Forces, led by TAYAD families!

Nearly 200 people attended the statement.

All kinds of democratic and loud actions are needed immediately to save the life of Serkan Onur Yilmaz who has been on a death fast for 317 days! His resistance is to stop the systematically isolation torture in new prison types called S, Y and high security prisons in Turkey.

Also the situation of Ayberk Demirdögen is getting critically, as he has been on a death fast for 195 days, followed by Fikret Akar with a indefinite hunger strike for 178 days.

and RECORDING VIDEOS demanding the closure of isolation prisons of type S, Y (of whose some are named high security prisons) as well as the recognition of the demands of the prisoners on hunger strike and death fast.

It should be stressed, that Serkan Onur Yilmaz is close to death and that his demands are quickly implementable!
