Solidarity action on the 350th day of Serkan Onur Yilmaz’ death fast

In Vienna, a solidarity vigil took place on the 26th of October, as part of an international action day for the political prisoner in Turkey, Serkan Onur Yilmaz, whose death fast resistance has reached 350th Days by this date.

The action took place at noon in front of the University of Vienna, where many people were in the streets. In context with the Austrian National Holiday (in remembrance of the neutrality declaration) different protests against military propaganda shows of the army and war mongery policies of the government took place as well.

A banner was opened to denounce the new pit-like isolation prisons in Turkey and posters of the death fast/hunger strike resisters Serkan Onur Yilmaz, Ayberk Demirdögen and Fikret Akar, all in a serious health condition, were hung.

In a speech of the Freedom Initiative for Poliltical Prisoners, the life-threatening situation of the hungerstrikers was explained, while the isolation policy of Turkey was denounced. A solidarity call was made and flyers spread with detailed information about the cause.
