14-15 NOVEMBER: ACTIONS ACROSS EUROPE

On 14 and 15 November, a series of actions were organised across Europe in support of the resistance carried out by revolutionary prisoners against pit-type isolation prisons. 15 November marked Ayberk Demirdögen’s 250th day of death fast. Not only is his health condition extremely critical, but Serkan Onur YIlmaz’s situation after 370 days of death fasting is also life-threatening, as is that of Fikret Akar, who has been on hunger strike for 231 days.

This is why actions in solidarity with the resistance to isolation prisons and for the lives of the prisoners on death fast/hungerstrike are carried out more frequently.

14 NOVEMBER: ACTIONS IN FRONT OF CONSULATES AND EMBASSIES:

On Friday, 14 November, protest actions were held in front of Turkish embassies and consulates. Along with supporters of People’s Front in different countries and the Anti-Imperialist Front, individuals and groups showed solidarity and participated in the actions.

15 NOVEMBER:

SUPPORT HUNGER STRIKE ACROSS EUROPE

On 15 November, 390 people in 9 European countries went on hunger strike and shared photos and videos in support of the resistance against pit-like high security isolation prisons in Turkey.

The distribution by country is as follows.

HASHTAG CAMPAIGN FOR THE HUNGERSTRIKERS:

On the night of 15 November, between 6 and 8 p.m. CET, a hashtag campaign was launched to mark Ayberk Demirdöğen’s 250th day. The hashtags #Ayberk250 and #SerkanAyberkFikret were used alongside the tag @adalet_bakanlik.

2,565 messages were shared on X. The messages emphasised that dungeon-like prisons are torture centres and that solitary confinement is a form of torture, demanding their closure.

We will continue to be the voice and breath of political prisoners wherever we are.
