Important Update for Ayberk Demirdogen

This is a statement from the People’s Law Office about the forcible transfer of death fast resister Ayberk Demirdögen to hospital on the 21st of November.

AYBERK DEMIRDOGEN, WHO HAS BEEN ON A DEATH FAST FOR 264 DAYS TO DEMAND THE CLOSURE OF PIT-TYPE PRISONS, WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL ON FRIDAY, 21 NOVEMBER!

UPON HIS STATEMENT THAT HE WOULD CUT OUT WATER AND SUGAR,

HE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE KIRIKKALE F-TYPE PRISON ON THE SAME DAY!

Ayberk Demirdogen has been on a hunger strike for 264 days demanding the closure of Pit-Type Prisons and an end to human rights violations at the Kirikkale F-Type Prison.

Our client was forcibly taken to Kirikkale State Hospital on 21 November 2025, handcuffed to a stretcher, and held there for 5.5 hours.

The doctors at the hospital to which our client was taken initially refused to register him, but did so under pressure from the prison administration.

Following this, our client was held in a cold prison cell for 5.5 hours and, upon refusing treatment, was returned to Kirikkale F-Type Prison where he was being held.

Ayberk Demirdögen’s health condition is critical. His latest health information is as follows.

– On Wednesday, 19 November, he lost consciousness in the bathroom due to shortness of breath and a severe drop in blood pressure. His heart rate dropped to 40 beats per minute.

– He is unable to walk and is brought to lawyer visits in a wheelchair.

– After being taken to hospital and brought back, his chest pains increased and he began to experience stabbing pains in his heart.

-Continues to experience weakness, fatigue and sleep problems.

-Swelling has developed in the left ankle and has not subsided.

As can be seen, our client’s health condition is at a critical stage. Instead of making plans for forced intervention, the Kırıkkale Prison Administration and the Ministry of Justice should accept our client’s demands without delay.

The eight friends held in Antalya High Security Pit-Type Prison must be transferred to a non-pit-type prison immediately, and Kirikkale F-Type Prison must put an end to human rights violations.
