In support of Ufuk Keskin, a sick prisoner at Kandira’s F-Type Prison No. 2, political prisoner Ali Dilmen has been on an indefinite hunger strike for 163 days at Kandira’s F Type Prison No. 2. Hüseyin Karaoğlan also started a hunger strike on 14 January in support of their demands.
In a video statement on the social platform X today, the Solidarity Association of Prisoners’ Families (TAYAD) announced that all of the demands of Ali Dilmen, Ufuk Keskin and Hüseyin Karaoğlan had been accepted.
According to these demands:
- Ufuk Kesin’s diet programme will be drawn up by a doctor.
- The 7-hour conversation limit has been increased to 10 hours.
- The issue of book restrictions in prison has been completely resolved.
- Besides this, a friend will be placed next to Ufuk Keskin
As of today, Ali Dilmen had been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Ali Teke, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike at the same prison, has also reportedly had all three of his demands met.
This is one of many victories that prisoners have achieved in recent years in their resistance to the massive attacks by isolation torture. The indefinite hunger strike continues in Turkey’s prisons.
