In the weekend of 28 February and 1 March, dozens of letters and postcards were sent to the prisoners in Turkey to express solidarity with the political prisoners on hunger strike resistance to pit-type isolation prisons and others who are kept in prison despite serious health problems.
Here’s a summary of the letter/post card action in different cities and countries last weekend:
RUSSIA AND BELARUS/MINSK – SOLIDARITY COMMITTEE WITH POLITICAL PRISONERS IN TURKEY
5 postcards and a letter were sent to the political prisoners on hunger strike in Turkish pit-type prisons from the members of the Solidarity Committee in Russia and Minsk:





ATHENS/GREECE:
Letters were sent both to political prisoners in Greece as well as to the prisoners on indefinite hungerstrike and sick prisoners in Turkey from Athens.




LONDON AND MANCHESTER/GREAT BRITAIN
There were also sent letters to the political prisoners in Turkey from London and Manchester.



PARIS/FRANCE
While the resistance of Zehra Kurtay for the right to residence and political asylum in France continues in the resistance tent in Paris, letters were also sent from there as part of the solidarity campaign on 28 February and 1 March.



BREDA/NETHERLANDS
On Sunday, March 1st, the Anti-Imperialist Front and Actiegroep Breda held a letter-writing event for the Grup Yorum members Betül and Bergün Varan who were born and raised in the Netherlands and imprisoned in Turkey.
A total of 18 people attended the event, which will continue on a monthly basis for different prisoners around the world, including the sick prisoners and those resisting isolation prisons in Turkey



VIENNA/AUSTRIA
10 post cards were sent to the prisoners on indefinite hunger strike resistance and sick prisoners in Turkey on behalf of the Resistance Council of Austria and the International Solidarity for Political prisoners.


BASEL/SWITZERLAND
8 post cards were sent to the political prisoners in Turkey from the Boran Cultural Center in Basel.



BELGIUM
Also from Belgium letters were sent to the political prisoners in resistance in Turkey to support the international campaign against isolation
