Due to a resistance to 24/7 camera observations in the prison cells of Marmara’s L Type Prison No. 6, the prison administration attacked political prisoners:

Oktay KELEBEK*, former hunger striker against S, R and Y isolation prisons, hunger strike veteran Yüksel DOĞAN, Yılmaz VİRANER, and cancer patient Hasan KARAPINAR were tortured and forcibly taken to solitary confinement cells.
According to a report, poltical prisoner Yüksel Doğan was dragged along the ground for about 300 meters, he suffered a spinal cord injury, and Oktay Kelebek’s arm was broken for the second time.
Yılmaz Viraner began an indefinite hunger strike demanding an end to the torture and his return to his cell.
The administration of Marmara No. 6 L-Type Prison wants to monitor prisoners with cameras 24/7 and intimidate those who resist with torture and solitary confinement.
WE DEMAND THAT:
Yılmaz Viraner, Hasan Karapınar, Yüksel Doğan, Oktay Kelebek, and Doğukan Mağol are taken back to their cells immediately 24/7 camera observation is a tool used as psychological torture and a violation of individual privacy of prisoners. Therefore this measurement should be removed from prison cells and solitary confinement of political prisoners should be stopped.
