Solidarity call for Colombian political prisoner Simon Trinidad

Following is the call of the Solidarity Campaign with Simón Trinidad who will celebrate his 75th birthday, which we as International Solidarity for Political Prisoner would like to share:

Comrades, comrades, parties, movements, social, popular, human rights organizations, faith communities, humanists, anti-fascists and anti-imperialists of the world:

The Simón Libertad Campaign invites you to join in a solidarity tribute on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Colombian revolutionary fighter and Nuestro-Americano, Juvenal Ovidio Ricardo Palmera Pineda – ‘SIMÓN TRINIDAD’, on July 30, 2025.

Simón, was illegally extradited to the United States on December 31, 2004, sentenced to 60 years for an act he did not commit and has remained in extreme conditions of incarceration for 22 years, 21 of them, in a maximum security prison in the United States.

You can express your support for Simon by recording a video message by following the instructions below:

 Record your cell phone greeting in an upright position. Or with a video camera, if you have the option.

 Record in a place with little ambient noise and good lighting.

 The duration of your message should be a maximum of 50 seconds.

 Introduce yourself with your names, organization (if you belong to one), and country.

 Close your greeting by asking for the repatriation and freedom of Simón Trinidad.
