Statement from TAYAD Families who Gathered Outside Antalya City Hospital Regarding Gürkan Türkoğlu’s Health Condition:

We are still waiting outside Antalya City Hospital. Today is our fourth day. It is Gürkan Türkoglu’s fourth day in intensive care, and we would like to provide an update on his condition. At present, Gürkan Türkoglu’s condition is not good. His liver enzymes were elevated; while they have decreased today compared to yesterday, his condition remains life-threatening. He has an infection. He has not regained consciousness yet.

As mothers and fathers, we have been appealing to the Ministry of Justice for 267 days. we said that you cannot bargain with a human life. We are addressing the Ministry of Justice, which has been negotiating for 267 days, from here. Our son has defeated fascism. His demands have been accepted. He is currently fighting for his life. Our child is fighting to conquer death. We are trying to get up-to-date information from doctors regarding his health. However, we cannot find anyone to talk with. We would like to address the intensive care doctors at Antalya City Hospital. We are here outside the hospital, waiting for updates on our child’s condition. As families, we are waiting. We will not leave Antalya City Hospital under any circumstances until we receive good news about Gürkan. For this reason, we are calling on our doctors to be more sensitive. Because right now, a mother and father are wasting away day by day outside your door for the sake of their child. That is why we want everyone to be more considerate. We’re waiting for good news from Gürkan. And as soon as we have some good news, we’ll share it with you straight away. That’s all we’ll say for now from here, in front of Antalya City Hospital. Gürkan is a strong young man, and we believe he will win victory for the second time.
