Solidarity with Tugcenur Özbay’s resistance

On the 17th of June, a hashtag campaign was carried out on the X platform in support of Tuğçenur Özbay’s hunger strike resistance.

Tugcenur has been on an indefinite hunger strike to protest against the introduction of prisoner ID badges for 140 days.

Within one hour, around 500 posts and reposts were shared.

The following messages were circulated:

* The imposition of ID badges is contrary to political identity.

* Rights violations in prisons must come to an end.

* The human rights of prisoners must be respected.

* The health conditions of prisoners are the responsibility of the state.

* Tuğçenur Özbay has been resisting with a hunger strike for 140 days for her rights.

* The ID badge policy is against human rights.

* People imprisoned because of their socialist beliefs are not criminals.

* Being forced to resist through hunger just to be able to read the magazine one wants is proof that the system is not functioning properly.

* Can isolation and rights violations stop prisoners’ resistance? No.

* We support the rightful resistance of prisoners.

* Tuğçenur Özbay is our honor. Her demands must be accepted.

* Freedom for political prisoners.

* The demands of resisting prisoners are also our demands.

The campaign will continue. We invite all our friends and supporters to participate.
