Gürkan Türkoglu is Immortal!

Today, we received the tragic news of the death of the revolutionary political prisoner, Gürkan Türkoğlu. He bravely resisted isolation torture in the newly built, pit-like prisons by going on hunger strike for 267 days. Gürkan also resisted the torture of forced feeding, to which he was subjected one day before his demands were accepted.

Despite all warnings about the possible consequences for his health, the forced medical intervention was carried out. Gürkan subsequently fell into a coma and spent three months fighting for his life in the intensive care unit at Antalya City Hospital.

Finally, the news of his death was announced today. Fascism in Turkey is to blame.

Force-feeding is torture, and in this case, murder too!

Ignoring the legitimate demands of hunger strikers for such a long time, and ultimately resorting to brutal coercive measures, is tantamount to deliberately seeking to take prisoners’ lives!

The policy of solitary confinement and human rights violations in prisons must be brought to an end.

Gürkan, your exemplary resistance will never be forgotten!
