Social media and hashtag campaign for Irfan Yilmaz

Following the appeal of IS4PP and AIF, a media (hashtag) campaign for political prisoner Irfan Yılmaz was carried out on Friday, July 10.

The action which lasted 1 hour counts 646 total posts, and by yesterday evening, it has got 6,728 Impressions.

In addition, there were received around 30 videos so far, in which people of different nationaities demand freedom for Irfan Yilmaz, who is imorisined despite a disability of 96%.

The solidarity campaign is successful since the demands for freedom are getting flouder every day.

The campaign for Irfan Yilmaz will continue as long as he is being kept in prison despite an official medical report saying that he is unfit for detention and can not manage life on his own.

The only reason why he is still in prison is a security notice of the police, which is solely of political nature.

Therefore everyone is invited, including persons who do not want to appear on camera, to simply record a video over one of the visuals of Irfan and say, “Freedom for Irfan Yılmaz” (in English either or in the language of the country where you live).

It is also useful to  hold a sign saying “Freedom for Irfan Yılmaz” and share that photo.

Irfan is trying to endure life under imprisonment while facing immense hardship and suffering. He is someone who would sacrifice an arm or a leg to preserve his dignity.

None of the difficulties we experience can truly be compared to what he is going through.

Irfan must not be forgotten or disappear from the public agenda. If we are silent, then his voice is silenced as well.
