International Hunger Strike chain continues

The hunger strike in solidarity with political prisoners in Turkey continues. Three resisters — Tahsin Sagaltici, Hüseyin Özen and Gürkan Türkoglu — won their struggle against a pit-type isolation prison. Gürkan Türkoglu, who underwent forced intervention on the 265th day of his hunger strike, the day before the 3 prisoners defeated isolation, remains at high risk of death and is in the intensive care unit at Antalya City Hospital.

The chain was started on 30 March 2025 for prisoners in Turkey, who turned their bodies into the barricades and carry on indefinite hunger strikes against isolation S, R, Y type prisons.

April was also an exemplary month for the huge show of solidarity with the hunger strike resistance from people in different countries.

The People’s Front and political prisoners’ solidarity groups in Great Britain are currently the ones carrying on the chain, which will run until 16 May. After that, it will pass to another country.
