Campaign for sick prisoner Irfan Yilmaz

While the resistance of political prisoners in Turkey to systematic isolation torture is supported on international level with various solidarity actions and protests, there is also a campaign continuing for the rights and the freedom for political prisoner Irfan Yilmaz who suffers from serious health problems with a disability rating of 96%.disabled 96 per cent.

A campaign across Europe was started to defend the rights of Irfan YIlmaz and to demand his immediate release.

Over the past week, 54 emails were sent to the Turkish Ministry of Justice, the Istanbul Medical Association, and Marmara Type L Prison No. 2, where Irfan is being held despite his serious disabilities.

PROTEST IN FRONT OF EMBASSIES AND CONSULATES OF TURKEY

In addition protests continue for Irfan and other political prisoners in front of Turkey’s embassies in different European cities.

PARIS: On Friday, May 29, the embassy of Turkey in Paris was visited to hand over a letter for the serious ill prisoner Irfan Yilmaz, as well as for Tahsin Sagaltici and Hüseyin Özen, former hunger strike resisters who were transfered from a pit-like prison but are stilll kept isolated without personal assistance after 265 days in hunger strike.

LONDON: A protest action was held in front of the embassy of Turkey on Friday, May 29, to express solidarity with sick prisoner Irfan Yilmaz and with the former hunger strike resiisters against isolation Tahsin Sagaltici and Hüseyin Özen.

ROTTERDAM: A protest rally was also organized in front of the consulate general of Turkey in Rotterdam today, 1st of June 2026 protest against the prison conditions of Tahsin Sagaltici and Hüseyin Özen and to demand the release of sick prisoner Irfan Yilmaz.
